Peer Review Restrictions
Reviewers should not upload manuscripts to AI tools due to confidentiality.
Exemptions
Basic grammar and spelling checks require no declaration. Research-process AI (data analysis, coding) is treated separately from writing-process AI.
Enforcement
Manuscripts may be screened for AI-generated content. Authors should also check the Guide for Authors for their specific journal — society journals published under the Elsevier imprint may have additional requirements or variations from the general policy.
